All in all an excellent weekend - a wargames weekend in a brewery in sight of the sea with beer and food included in the price of entry is truly something of great wonder...
An immeasurable vote of thanks as well to the Greek players from the 2 (or is it now 3?) clubs in Patras and Athens - all excellent opponents, and whose knowledge of both English and of the rules was probably better than ours for most of the time (Paris on Friday night/Saturday am excepted!).
It's also difficult to imagine such good hosts - Kostas especially for not only being our travel agent, but umpire, catering manager, organizer, social secretary and taxi service - incredible!
I think all 5 of us (Me, Mick, Ian Brian and camp follower Suzi) will be first in the queue for the IWF's in Athens next year, and then again for this comp when it next returns.
And, as the only possible way to close such an epic report, here is a picture of what was left of the "snack" provided after lunch on Sunday after nearly all the wargamers had dived in.
Hmmmm. Meat !
phew!
