Game 4 in Seville
After a rather extended 6.5 hour lunch break we resumed for the final round at 4:45pm.
Game 4 saw me fighting against a Han Chinese army . Surely following my debacle in th emorning, I would be able to just roll forwards and fight anything, and rely on the dice gods to favour me with a victory?
The table was dominated by a piece of rough ground, which I hoped to drive my warband over and avoid any lurking knights.
One warband command raced ahead, as its elephants peeled off to try and corner the chariotry before they could join in. the other warband group wheeled and pointed itself at the likely point of most impact.
A full set of sixes from the Chinese allowed them to shuffle the deckchairs as the host of warband approached rapidly.
The elephants and chariots were engaged in a game of delicate dancing
But inevitably the Spanish warband - eager to make up from their failure in the morning - clattered into a smaller group of Chinese barbarians, supported only by the thinnest of flank guards - Bw (I)
The game was now up for the Chariotry - they had been neutralized.
On my right, Hannibal had been leading the Spearmen forwards, and they were engaged against cavalry as elephants and psiloi munched their way through the Hd (I) skirmish screen
Even more warband arrived, and poured through to support the right flank of their colleagues.
Waves after wave of Carthaginians poured forwards, and finally the Chinese wall was breached. A decisive 10--0 victory by the end of turn 6 for the boys from North Africa.
Post Match Analysis
The Han list was not geared up to deal with 24 warband, as it was stuffed with inferior bowmen and inferior spears. With the chariots out of the way, it was a recipe for defeat - add warband, stir and leave to die.
