Two draws and a horriffic loss, and only one game left to rescue the invincible reputation of the Swedes.

The enemy army was a pretty solid and unbroken line of musket-armed foote, and they clearly had little if any incentive or intent to advance towards the Swedes.
The Swedes were happy - they at last had a target to aim for who would not run away or hide!
The main challenge was that the enemy army was so wide that even the German mercenary foote were going to be pressed into front line action, otherwise the enemy could wheel in on the three Swedish Brigades and pour ridiculous amounts of fire into them as they advanced
The 2 units of Carbine armed horse seemed to have gotten to grips with their battlefield role as well, and were advancing bravely into an area of the field where there was no meaningful opposition
The proper Horse meanwhile were making their usual and traditional beeline for the most heavily armoured enemy mounted units they could find, desparate to go out in a blaze of glory
The Swedish advance started to test the boundaries of what is an acceptable checkerboard formation
This time the Swedish and Finnish horse had managd to identify a relatively small number of enemy mounted bases to target, and were also using the raking fire of their artillery park to soften up the enemy as they hared towards them. Maybe this would be a better outcome...?
Even the Commanded Shotte were in play and in the right place to offset the enemy's better armour advantage when the two lines eventually clashed
This was the point at which the decision to take on ly 3 generals was coming back to haunt the Swedes. The need to move fast all across the park was proving a huge drain on management time and resources...
Hussar!! The enemy horse suffered base losses from the Swedish artillery park! That should tip the odds in combat as well
The Swedish mounted arm put together a remarkably coherent formation ready to press home their attack with
Meanwhile the opposite was happening on the other flank. The decidedly Average Carabiniers had been sniped by Dutch artillery and had suffered a debilitating base loss. This in turn forced the Swedish Green Brigade of foote to interpose itself between the gunnes and their own horse to stop 25% losses turning into a 50% loss and a unit break
As the Swedish mounted rolled forward, they evenyually masked their own Gunnes.
The Green Brigade had scared off the enemy Horse, and they fell back hopefully allowing time for the Swedish Karabinyatterye to recover their poise.
The Yellows and Blues were starting to anticipate some close quarter action as they marched towards the waiting Dutch
A merry dance ensued on the right, as both sides maneuvered 25%-down horse units out of enemy shooting arcs in an attempt to keep a decent mounted force in play
How tidy is this !! The Swedes and their supporting Germans gear themselves up for the attack
No-one was blinking in the potential horse melee on the left -- with the unit of Commanded shotte pinging away every round there was a small logic in the Swedes waiting their time
Eventually the Dutch blinked first and chharged home - to recieve somewhat of a kicking from the Swedes and Finns, although the German Cuirassiers in Swedish Service had managed to come off worse at the end of the line
Things quickly deteriorated for the beleagured Dutch, with a fragmented unit in the middle of the block of 3 Horse units looking like the weakest link
With the mounted battle swinging the way of the Scandinavians, their foote also steeled themselves to walk into the barrage of shooting that the Dutch lines would unleash once they moved up into range.
The shooting was devastating - a German unit at the bottom of the picture broke and ran after suffering horrific casulaties, but the Swedish units barrelled forward, losing a base from the Yellow Brigade but the Blues were performing sterling service and with the aid of their Reginald Gun they disrupted some of the Orangemen.
The Blues piles in - but as hard as the Dutch tried to be resolute in their defence, they had no answer to a full 7-hit impact phase from the Swedes!!
The Dutch horse were also now in tatters and were swept from the field as the Finns and Swedish Horse pursued and cut them down
The Finns sensed the opportunity for a touchdown....
The Blue brigade by now almost had their breakthrough and the Yellows were now also in charge range - but the hapless German mercenaries were taking a real pounding
In the battle of the ineffective horse, the Swedish ones were winning in the "I'm not very effective" stakes hands down
They broke and fled, leaving the poor commanded shotte looking and feeling like a very vulnerable target
The Blues break through!! Now, where are those rules about turning a mixed formation....?
In a unique development, one of my armies actually captures the opponents gunnes, rather than the other way around!!
OOps - another unit of Germans - this time with figures from Matchlock Miniatures - breaks from sustained shooting by the Dutch
The Yellow and Green Brigades get well stuck in, and the Dutchmen start sprouting Fragmented markers like tulip bulbs in the springtime
The Swedish artillery are still involved in the game, and start to provide enfilading fire against Dutch units who are attempting to respond to the threat appearing from their right as the Finnish Horse return from their pursuit to threaten the Dutch line
Amazingly, some of the mounted melee is still ongoing, as one lone Dutch unit holds on against all odds and holds up 2 Swedish units... this has been going on for far too long! Surely time for the last Dutch unit to give in...?
The Result is a big win for the Swedes!!
Post Match Summary
OMG !!! What a fabulous win guys! I'm, like, totally over the moon at the victory we have won today. Hip Hip Horah for Sweden !!
It was almost as if we actually had a plan - like, yeah, really! It's all like totally radically working. And the Swedes did the winning, and the German mercenaries did the losing and stuff. That's so getting them back for not having colourful uniforms, right??
But, I'm now so totally over this "Swedes are unbeatable" thing - that's soooo last week! I mean, either we play other Swedes, or we play people who try to avoid fighting our cool well dressed dudes - that's soo not a recipie for winning, right?
Anyways, I need to go and find a new dress. I'm thinking something in yellow and blue, with like loads of diamonds.......

So you paltroon - back to fashion for you I think. At last you find an opponent who's plan involves - quite rightly - standing in a line and waiting for you to attack. And then you almost droppeth the ball on this one. Your lack of competence is truly astounding
What on earth were you doing with the Carbinyatterye? 4-strong horse, and they mince around in front of the only unit of artillery on the enemy side of the table? Oh - and then they die. So, what woudl have heppened if you had hung back - or even planned better to advance up behind your Green Brigade? A cleaner, faster bigger win, that's what.
And for your Horse - have they a suicide wish? They always charge into danger, and then struggle to get out of it. Fools! The whole thing of the Swedes is that their foote are too tough for anyone to fight, so most enemies will try hard to avoid them - so to counter this you need enough stuff to win elsewhere. That means lots of Superior commanded shotte, and lots of little guns. You had almost none of either. Lets just hope you have more luck in another competition
