Pisa. (Its not Derby)
This year Central London decided to have a jolly day out to Pisa, instead of going to Derby for the "World" Team Championships. There were a number of reasons for this:
- Pisa is allegedly nicer than Derby
- The food in Italy is allegedly nicer than the food in Derby.
- I was able to convince 7 other club mates to come to Pisa, whereas I was struggling to get 2 more to come to Derby.
- I like playing people I haven't met before, with armies that aren't predictable "standard issue" compositions...
- I've been to Grandson for 4 consecutive years, so who cares about the
national rankings and winning a place yet again - I've had my fair turn for
a while, let someone else go!
However on getting there, there were as many similarities as there were differences. Spotting the differences between the tourist brochures of both places seemed to be somewhat less easy than we had hoped.

However, it did mean instead of a curry on Friday night we were unfortunately forced to take the rather disappointing option of the hotel restaurant.
However, after the 5th course we had just about gotten used to it.........
anyway, onto the games....
