Not a lot to say about this one, except that it wasn't as good as ours at beating other Viking lists. In the game our 3 DBE wedges went straight through 3 ranks of Bd/Bd/Ps like well engineered high temperature German knives through soft Danish butter. Dave's plan was that his German ally could dismount to stiffen his blade line, but you can have too much of a good thing....We also couldn't work out why not to have the 4 boats - they can cause lots of trouble! With blades against blades across the rest of the table our DBE's plus pikemen (plus the warband going in next to them), was the decisive factor in giving us a 10-0.

This proved quite tough, and one command went straight through our flank command with minimal casualties - Elephants and blades is still a nasty combination, as the smellies still get reasonable factors against our blades, and would have been a real problem to the many Knight armies now popular. However in the game our flank march of the landestroppen command arrived on our first turn on the same flank where we were being beaten back, and charged downhill into the hordes and baggage, taking out enough support troops to stop the Chola command in its tracks just as their front line troops had beaten our flank command. This saved a potentially nasty situation, as having 5 Bd (F) and 3 El wheeling into the flank of a Viking line was unlikely to have been survivable for long. We won 9-1.

We were amazed that you can get this many spears, pikes and blades in a Medieval German army, as we had been looking for something similar last year, but given up as the list was just too complicated - probably a good basis for future lists I think! Our terrain threw down a huge forest in the center of their deployment zone, and the Germans elected to deploy between it and the waterway, in a very deep formation. We were expecting them to come out gunning for us with DBE's Kn across the table, so after our deployment we found that we could only really fit 1 command into the gap they were hiding in! This was the CinC - (Our Germans were, appropriately, unreliable all game) and after the Germans had sneered Teutonically at our derisory 2 warband, their total lack of movement in the game allowed us to march the Wb across the table and put them exactly where we wanted - over the top of firstly a Bd (S), and then, even better, through 4 Pk (I) behind him. The boats also caused merry hell, nearly shooting a column of Hungarian LH off table, but were unable to land as, with just one command in play and taking casualties, we were unable to risk the enemy LH attacking them at low factors as they were beaching. In the end we needed to get an evens roll with the WB against 3 more Pk (I) to kill their CinC's command to score a 7-3, but we just missed out - not bad considering we really only used one command !
Sorry, I lost the last list, but we won the game 10-0. It was against a Northern Dynasties Chinese army, whose Dare To Dies got out of control in turn 2, and then got our Landestroppen rammed down their gullets in Turn 3, and got put back in the box in about turn 5. This left a gaping hole in the middle of their army which wasn't really fillable except with some of the more dangerous bits from our army - the coup-de-grace was delivered by landestroppen running down already-broken single elements of Sp (I) to kill (unbroken) LH trying to get out of their way behind them. It was horrible and very messy and we won 10-0.
